If you've ever Googled "twitch clip editor," StreamLadder lands in the top 3 results. Makes sense. They've been around since 2020, they're Twitch-native from day one, and their manual clip editor helped thousands of streamers before AI clipping really became a thing.
But it's 2026. The whole clipping game has changed. The real question now: do you pick the historical tool that slowly added AI features, or the AI-first tool that's also Twitch-native and built around auto-publishing?
I'm Fadi (Ragnarlebroc on Twitch). I used StreamLadder for 14 months before building StreamClipping. I know their strengths and limits well, and I'll give you my honest verdict.
TL;DR for the impatient
| If you're… | Pick |
|---|---|
| Twitch streamer who wants fast AI workflow + auto-publish | StreamClipping AI |
| Twitch streamer who enjoys editing each clip manually (multi-cam, transitions) | StreamLadder (their manual editor is still excellent) |
| You want forever-free with a few clips/month | StreamClipping FREE (15 min/month + 7-day Pro trial) |
| You mostly clip from existing Twitch clip URLs (twitch.tv/.../clip/...) | StreamLadder (workflow optimized for that since launch) |
| You want AI to do 100% of the work, including publishing | StreamClipping AI (AutoPilot, a unique feature) |
| You want fast human support | StreamClipping AI (I personally answer) |
What's StreamLadder
Dutch tool launched in 2020. Originally a manual Twitch clip editor: paste a Twitch clip URL, pick a template (gaming, IRL, music), add captions and music, export 9:16. Simple, effective.
Since 2024, they've layered AI features on top (auto-generation from long VOD, moment suggestions). But the core DNA is the manual editor for existing clips.
Plans (May 2026):
- Free: 4 exports/month at 720p, watermark, 60 sec max
- Plus: €15/month, 100 exports at 1080p, no watermark
- Pro: €25/month, 200 exports + AI generator + multi-cam edit
- Agency: €49/month, multi-accounts
Strengths:
- Rock-solid manual multi-cam editing: split face cam / game / chat into separate tracks, arrange split-screen, real timeline with separated tracks. This is where they still beat us (our multi-cam is more automatic, less manually fine-grained).
- Twitch-native templates: pre-made layouts for Apex / Valorant / GTA RP / IRL etc. Well-made, real time saver.
- Large royalty-free music library (300+ tracks). We have 200+, so equivalent but they have an edge on sub-genre variety.
- Edit existing Twitch clips (twitch.tv/.../clip/xxx URL) in 1 click. Workflow optimized for that since the beginning.
Weaknesses (for a modern streamer workflow):
- AI is bolted on, not the core of the product. You can feel it. The virality scoring is basic, the suggested hooks are generic templates.
- No multi-platform AutoPilot. You export your clip, download it, manually upload to TikTok. Like 2022.
- No native YouTube/Kick connection: workflow is Twitch-centric. If you do YouTube Live or Kick, you have to download the VOD manually.
- Word-by-word animated captions not included in Plus (€15): need Pro at €25 for viral caption styles.
- No carry-over of minutes/exports. Your 100 Plus exports, use 60 this month, the 40 reset to zero.
- UI majority EN, no real dedicated FR human support.
What's StreamClipping AI
Behind the scenes: it's me (Fadi / Ragnarlebroc). I used StreamLadder for 14 months, tried OpusClip for 8 months (see the other comparison), and built StreamClipping to combine what both did well plus what neither did.
Want these clips in your life?
StreamClipping AI launches Monday May 11 at 7:00 AM Paris time. Beta members get -50% off the first 3 months. No card.
Plans:
- Free: 15 min of VOD/month forever + 7 days of Pro unlocked at signup (1500 min, no watermark, all AI features). No card.
- Creator: €19/month, 500 min, no watermark, animated captions included.
- Pro: €39/month, 1500 min, custom branding, AutoPilot included.
- Agency: €99/month, 5000 min, multi-orgs, API.
Strengths vs StreamLadder:
- AI-first: moment detection, virality scoring, hooks, word-by-word synced captions, all AI-generated end-to-end. Not an add-on, it's the engine.
- AutoPilot Pro+: upload VOD, AI makes the clips, AND publishes them itself on TikTok + Shorts + Reels + X per your cadence. StreamLadder has no equivalent.
- Native YouTube + Kick + Twitch connections via URL or OAuth. Not just Twitch.
- Word-by-word animated captions from Creator (€19). No need to pay €25 like StreamLadder Pro.
- Top-up minutes carry-over: purchased minutes never expire.
- Direct human support in FR + EN. Email contact@leparadisdustreamer.fr, it's me reading.
- 7-day Pro trial without a card: you test the real premium version. StreamLadder Free gives 4 watermarked exports, which is less useful as a trial.
Honest weaknesses vs StreamLadder:
- Less fine-grained manual multi-cam editor. Our AI detects and arranges automatically, which works in 80% of cases. For the 20% where you want pixel-perfect control over face cam placement vs game framing, StreamLadder still wins on pure manual editing.
- Slightly smaller music library: 200+ tracks vs their 300+. On core "Lofi" / "Hype" / "Electronic" playlists, we cover the same ground but with less sub-genre variety.
- No "edit existing Twitch clip from URL" workflow. We always start from a full VOD. If you've already manually clipped on Twitch and just want to style it, you'd have to download and re-upload, which is less direct.

The test: 1 Twitch stream (4h), processed by both
I took my May 8 VOD (ranked Valorant + IRL end of stream). Here are the numbers:
StreamLadder (Pro €25):
- Strong moments detected: 9 proposals over 4h
- Virality scoring: 5 clips marked "high potential" (no detailed score)
- Per-clip editing: 2-3 min of manual finishing needed per clip (placing face cam, picking music, etc.)
- Captions: generated in EN by default, had to regenerate in FR
- Multi-cam: excellent, clean game+cam split screen in 30 sec
- Total workflow for 5 published clips: ~40 minutes
StreamClipping (Pro €39):
- Strong moments detected: 18 proposals over 4h
- Virality scoring: 0-100 score displayed per clip, median 81/100
- Per-clip editing: 0 if you ship as-is (10 sec if you adjust a hook or caption)
- Captions: auto in FR (language auto-detected from cam), 6 styles
- Multi-cam: AI-detected correctly on 15/18 clips, the 3 others need manual switch (10 sec)
- AutoPilot schedules publication of the 18 clips over 6 days
- Total workflow for 18 published clips: ~5 minutes (quick review + 1 adjustment)
Test verdict: on volume + automation, StreamClipping wins by a wide margin. On a single ultra-polished clip where you want perfect manual control, StreamLadder has a finer editing UX.
When to pick StreamLadder over us
Be honest with yourself:
-
You make 1-3 clips per week max, and you spend time manually editing each one. StreamLadder's manual multi-cam beats our auto version.
-
Your origin workflow is clicking "Clip" on Twitch during your live, then styling those existing clips. StreamLadder is built for that since 2020, we always start from full VOD.
-
You only stream on Twitch, not YouTube or Kick. StreamLadder is full-Twitch.
-
You want a timeline-based visual editor à la Premiere / CapCut Light, where you see audio/video/captions tracks and touch every detail. That's their approach, not ours.
-
You want pre-made templates by game (Apex skin, Valorant layout, IRL chill, etc.). They have more than us.
Tick 2+ of these 5 → StreamLadder is probably better for you. Honest answer.
When to pick StreamClipping over StreamLadder
-
You make 5+ clips per week and want AI to handle 90% of it. Our AutoPilot + virality scoring save hours/week.
-
You publish to 3-4 platforms (TikTok + Shorts + Reels + X). We have auto-publishing, they don't.
-
You stream in any language beyond EN. Our scoring works on multilingual content (Whisper Large v3 baked in).
-
You want to upload a full VOD (4h+) and have it all output automatically. StreamLadder can do it too, but per-clip manual finishing is higher.
-
You also stream on YouTube Live or Kick, not just Twitch. We connect all 3 natively.
-
You want responsive human support. I personally read every email.
-
You want the 7-day Pro trial without a card to test in real conditions before paying.
FAQ
Is StreamLadder actually cheaper than StreamClipping?
At face value yes: €15 vs €19 for entry tier. But StreamLadder Plus at €15 doesn't include word-by-word animated captions, doesn't include AI scoring, doesn't include AutoPilot. To match our Creator €19 feature-wise, you need their Pro at €25. So at comparable feature parity, we're €6 cheaper at the Pro tier.
Can I migrate my StreamLadder clips to StreamClipping?
Exported MP4s yes, upload them to ours (useful for our community remix or to re-style with our caption engine). But projects, configs, brand kits aren't portable, and it's the same in both directions. Recreate your config, 5 minutes.
Does StreamLadder have AutoPilot or auto-publishing?
Not yet. They have a basic scheduler for one platform at a time (Buffer/Hootsuite-style). Our multi-platform AutoPilot with configurable cadence + 6h grace period remains unique in the AI clipping market as of May 2026.
Is StreamClipping better at everything?
No, I said it: their manual multi-cam editor is finer, their template library is bigger, their "clip Twitch URL" workflow is more direct. If those 3 points are critical for you, their tool is better on those axes. But on volume, automation, multi-platform auto-publishing and support, StreamClipping AI stays ahead. That's why I write honest comparisons instead of marketing fluff.
Do you have a StreamLadder affiliate / partnership?
No. No partnership, no affiliate. This comparison is sponsored by nobody.
Verdict
The full point by point comparison is summed up on our StreamClipping vs StreamLadder page (table kept up to date as the products evolve).
For a Twitch streamer who wants fast workflow + auto-publish: pick StreamClipping. AutoPilot + multilingual scoring + native multi-platform = save several hours/week vs StreamLadder.
For a streamer who edits each clip manually with care: StreamLadder keeps an edge on fine multi-cam editing and their template library.
For the majority of streamers reading this: you probably do 5+ clips/month and want it to run itself. In that case, StreamClipping AI is the tool to pick. You'll test 7 days in Pro without a card. If it doesn't fit, you're out. If it does, you know the price.
StreamClipping AI lets you try it free, 15 minutes of video per month for life, no credit card.
