The Screenshot

Hermes just posted the text that sinks his brother. He never reads twice.

Seen from above inside a packed marble and brass metro carriage of Olympus, Hermes stands frozen at a pole while dozens of commuters press glowing phones to their ears, every screen showing the same chat screenshot.

What happened

You voted, and EXPOSE won. You told him to post the proof, all of it. November fifth, 7 a.m., his mother's cave on Mount Cyllene: all night, her face was live on the account with no face. It never spoke. Show them the truth, sweetheart, Maia says. All of it.

At 7:12 a.m., Hermes posts Apollo's text, top to bottom: name, number, time. Name, number, time, he laughs. Nobody can call this fake. By nine, three thousand new followers. He is one follower short of leaving last place.

Then, in the metro under the agora, every phone dials the same number: Apollo's. Two million missed calls. And the first one came at 7:13, one minute after the post, with no caller ID. My number, little brother, Apollo says. Down by midnight, or I report it.

Here is the trap: YouTube's harassment policy bans sharing a phone number that isn't public. It applies to your own information, to someone else's, and to information you share by accident. The truth was public, Hermes, Athena says. His number wasn't. And his strike from day nine still counts: a second strike within ninety days means two weeks without posting. He has eleven days left.

Now the choice: delete, and his proof dies with the number. Keep, and one report can take him off YouTube for two weeks. And at midnight, Apollo sends one photo: the form Hermes signed on day three. His address. His number.

The evidence · The story is fiction. These rules are real.
  1. A private phone number can't be posted

YouTube's harassment and cyberbullying policy doesn't allow content that shares, threatens to share, or encourages others to share non-public personally identifiable information, including phone numbers. It doesn't include widely available public information, like the phone number of a business.

  2. Even your own, even by accident

YouTube says the policy applies to sharing your own personal information, sharing someone else's, and situations where you accidentally share it. A first violation is likely a warning; after that, a strike may be issued.

  3. A second strike: two weeks without posting

If you get a second Community Guidelines strike within the same 90-day period as your first, you will not be allowed to post content for 2 weeks. Three strikes in the same 90 days may get the channel permanently removed.

  4. Why Apollo has his address

A YouTube counter notification must include your full legal name, your physical address and your telephone number, and YouTube is legally required to share it with the claimant. Hermes filed one against Apollo on day three.
