TikTok Monetization in 2026: How to Actually Get Paid on TikTok

TikTok pays for views through Creator Rewards: 18+, 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in 30 days, videos over 1 minute, 8 countries. Here are the other programs, sourced.

Updated October 19, 2026.

TikTok's main way to pay creators for views is the Creator Rewards Program: you must be at least 18, have at least 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and post original videos longer than one minute, according to TikTok Creator Academy. It is open in only 8 countries, and TikTok publishes no rate per 1,000 views. The other programs TikTok lists are LIVE gifts (with Super Fan), Video Gifts, Subscription, TikTok Shop affiliate, brand deals through TikTok One, Work With Artists and Effect House Creator Rewards; Series still has its own help page.

Below: each program, what TikTok pays and when, the Creator Fund, the "Screen Time to Cash" pop-up and the rules for stream clips.

Creator Rewards Program: how to get monetized on TikTok

Who can join

The account rules, from the official Creator Rewards page (dated September 10, 2026):

TikTok says "you'll hear back within three days" after you apply. These thresholds have not moved since June 2024.

Which countries

The program is open to creators based in, and registered in, 8 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico and Brazil. Canada, Spain and Italy are not included. Mexico is the only country added since the June 2024 version of the page, which listed 7; it opened on October 1, 2025 according to El Imparcial, a secondary source.

Which videos qualify

From TikTok's video eligibility page:

For the Additional Reward, TikTok adds: "Always ensure that your videos are 1080p or higher." (Creator Academy) A video you delete or set to private loses its rewards.

What counts as a qualified view

A qualified view must meet all of these:

How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

TikTok does not publish a rate. It defines RPM as "average gross revenue per 1k qualified views" (Creator Academy), but gives no figure. Its official comparisons are relative: in 2024 it said Creator Rewards paid "up to 20 times" what the Creator Fund offered, and in March 2024 it announced, as reported by TechCrunch, that total creator revenue had grown "by over 250%" in six months.

How the payout is calculated

Since Spring 2025, your total is made of two parts:

The "originality, play duration, search value and engagement" formula still quoted online is the 2024 wording, now replaced, though originality remains a key metric.

What creators report (estimates, not TikTok rates)

The figures online are estimates built from creator dashboards:

By our calculation, on Uppbeat's $0.36 to $1.04 range, 100,000 qualified views would come to about $36 to $104: an estimate built on an estimate, not a promise. To compare, see how much YouTube pays, Instagram Reels monetization and Facebook Reels monetization.

What happened to the TikTok Creator Fund?

TikTok discontinued the Creator Fund on December 16, 2023 in the United States, United Kingdom, France and Germany, and steered creators to the Creativity Program, as reported by Engadget. The fund had started with $200 million in 2020. The Creativity Program left beta and became the Creator Rewards Program on March 18, 2024 (TikTok Newsroom).

In Spain, the fund was due to end on February 24, 2024, with nothing to replace it for now, according to El Independiente (January 30, 2024). In Italy, Engadget reported in November 2023 that it would stay "at least for now", and we found no source for its end date. Creator Rewards is open in neither country.

Where "$0.02 to $0.04 per 1,000 views" comes from

That figure describes the old Creator Fund. We found no TikTok page that ever published it, and it matches what creators reported about their own earnings. The best-known case is Hank Green, who earned five cents per 1,000 views from the fund in 2020, then 2.5 cents, as reported by Tubefilter in January 2022. His explanation: a fixed pool, "about $550,000 per day", shared by more and more creators. Useful history, not today's rate.

TikTok LIVE: gifts, Diamonds and Scaled LIVE Rewards

To go LIVE, you must be 18 or meet the age of majority in your country (Creator Academy). Viewers buy Coins and send you Gifts, and TikTok gives you Diamonds. But under the US Virtual Items Policy (updated January 22, 2026), "TikTok uses Diamonds to recognize a user's popularity and ranking on the Platform", and "Diamonds do not automatically entitle a user to receive Rewards, including a Reward Payment."

The cash reward is calculated separately, in US dollars, under the Rewards Policy, from factors including your Diamonds, LIVE duration and engagement. TikTok publishes no official Diamond to dollar rate. Even its older Virtual Items Policy (last updated December 2019, still shown for countries outside the EU and India) says the cash for withdrawn Diamonds is "calculated by us based on various factors including the number of Diamonds a user has accrued". In the EU, that policy was replaced by a Coins Policy and a Rewards Policy on June 16, 2022 (TikTok).

Scaled LIVE Rewards

How it works for creators in the program, per TikTok Creator Academy (page dated October 16, 2026): rewards are calculated from the Diamonds you collect and a rewards percentage you earn through missions. Select creators can collect up to 53% of LIVE rewards: 40% from Per-LIVE Missions and 13% from Weekly Missions, with a $1,000 weekly cap on the Creator League mission. A "go LIVE day" needs at least 25 total minutes LIVE in a day, and you can appeal for LIVEs hosted within the past 180 days.

What changes on November 9, 2026: updated Weekly Missions "will begin rolling out November 9, 2026, and will gradually become available across all regions". From the same date, "a small percentage of creators in certain regions, chosen at random, will receive Scaled LIVE Rewards on a delayed schedule for testing purposes".

Super Fan replaced LIVE Subscription

Super Fan "upgrades the previous LIVE Subscription program". It costs $9.99 a month or the local equivalent, and TikTok gives you "up to 50%" of its Super Fan revenue after payment fees (FAQ); another page says it "shares 50% of its net revenue with you, after the iOS/Google platform payment fee of 15-30%" (Creator Academy). Since September 2025, all LIVE subscriber perks live in Super Fan.

Subscription and Series: paid content on TikTok

Subscription is now about exclusive videos, not LIVE. To set it up, you need to be 18, with over 10,000 followers and over 100,000 video views during the last calendar month. The price runs from $2.99 to $99.99 a month ($5.99 by default). You keep 70% after app store fees, up to 90% with a 20% bonus, which TikTok opens by in-app notification, if you post at least three valid sub-only videos in the month (or your first one, if you never posted any) (Creator Academy). Unoriginal or low quality accounts aren't eligible.

Series lets you sell collections of up to 80 videos, each up to 20 minutes long. You need to be 18, with at least 10,000 followers, an account at least 30 days old, three or more public posts and 1,000 views in the last 30 days (Creator Academy).

TikTok Shop affiliate and brand deals

TikTok Shop affiliate

In the United States, the official Creator Eligibility Policy asks for: 18+, at least 1,000 followers, being based in the US, and passing identity verification. Creators under 5,000 followers start in an "Affiliate Creator Pilot Program" for at least 30 days, limited to 3 shoppable videos a day and 3 shoppable LIVEs a week, with no campaigns. Outside the US, the pages we read give no threshold.

TikTok One and Branded Buzz

TikTok One replaced TikTok Creator Marketplace (FAQ). You need to be 18 or the age of majority, follow the Branded Content Policy and be in a supported region; "Projects require at least 1,000 followers as a baseline, plus whatever the brand adds on top". Depending on the campaign, its Branded Buzz campaigns pay a flat fee to creators with 50k+ followers, share a cash pool based on eligible views, or pay a bonus of up to $1,500 for top-performing videos.

Turn on the disclosure toggle

Any post that promotes a brand needs the commercial content disclosure toggle: "Promotional content" for your own business, "Paid partnership" for someone else's (Creator Academy). The Branded Content Policy in force since August 31, 2026 counts gifted products and affiliate links or promo codes as branded content. Without the disclosure, "your content may not be eligible for the For You Feed".

When and how does TikTok pay you?

For Creator Rewards, you can redeem your rewards on the 15th of each month once they reach the $50.00 minimum (FAQ). Withdrawals are "typically" processed within 72 hours, with no guarantee, to PayPal, Pix or a bank account, and TikTok does not issue invoices for these payouts (Creator Rewards Program).

The payout cycle is weekly, bi-weekly or monthly depending on the program, and you can't choose it. Before your first payout, add a payment method, fill in your tax information and verify your identity.

Did the US deal change TikTok monetization in 2026?

Not on paper. TikTok USDS Joint Venture LLC was set up under the Executive Order of September 25, 2025 (announcement dated January 23, 2026): Silver Lake, Oracle and MGX hold 15% each and ByteDance keeps 19.9%. The US Rewards Policy, updated January 22, 2026, now names the joint venture as the party deciding on rewards. We found no official change to Creator Rewards: the September 10, 2026 page still lists the US with the same 18 / 10,000 / 100,000 rules.

What is "Screen Time to Cash" on TikTok?

It is not a TikTok program. "Screen Time to Cash" is a deceptive pop-up made to look like an official TikTok message. It says "Congratulations! You have been selected for our Screentime To Cash program", then, according to The Tab (October 15, 2026), asks you to confirm your age, download a "partner app" and "complete setup to start earning". TikTok confirmed to Mashable (updated September 29, 2026) that there is no legitimate TikTok program called "Screentime to Cash", or anything similar, and told it: "We've removed content and accounts for violating our policies against deceptive practices and misleading content."

Users told Mashable the ads led them to get-paid-to apps, which promise small payments for games or surveys, such as Playful Rewards and QuickRewardz. Playful Rewards told Mashable the ads "are not being run directly by Playful Rewards and may be coming from a third-party advertising source".

Our advice to tell a fake from a real TikTok program:

Can a clip account make money on TikTok?

The honest answer depends on whose footage you post.

TikTok's originality rules

TikTok's Originality Policy lists four kinds of unoriginal content: copied completely from others; "largely repurposed from another source without adding any creative edits"; combined from multiple sources with little or no added value; and "Content with someone else's visible watermark or superimposed logo". Unoriginal content can be pulled from the For You feed and is ineligible for Creator Rewards.

The Community Guidelines in force since September 24, 2026 confirm it: "Reused or unoriginal content posted without creative edits, such as clips that show someone else's watermark or logo" is ineligible for the For You feed, and reposting copyrighted material without permission isn't allowed. The Creator Rewards page also rejects "minimal original input or edits" and, as low quality, "split screens, meaningless reactions". Whether a facecam stacked over gameplay counts as a split screen, TikTok doesn't say.

Clips of your own streams

TikTok's texts never name streamers or Twitch, so this is our reading: clips of your own stream are not "copied from others", since you created the footage. For Creator Rewards, the clip still has to be longer than one minute, without another platform's overlay or logo. If a video is wrongly flagged, you can appeal within 80 days, and TikTok accepts proof such as "your involvement in editing" (Creator Academy). Our guide to growing a TikTok clip account covers the posting side.

Clips of someone else's stream: paid clipping

If you clip other people's streams, Creator Rewards is a hard fit: you need real creative input, and permission is the rights holder's call. Paid clipping campaigns pay per view instead, with the streamer's or brand's agreement. According to StreamClipping AI's paid clipping rate index, the 505 open campaigns accepting TikTok clips paid a median $1.25 per 1,000 views on October 18, 2026. That is a posted rate, not guaranteed income: campaigns set minimum views, approve content, cap payouts per creator, and their budget runs out. Check the index for today's figure, and browse open campaigns on /discover.

Where StreamClipping AI fits

StreamClipping AI, the AI clipping software for streamers, turns a Twitch, YouTube or Kick VOD, or a livestream in progress, into subtitled 9:16 vertical clips, and can publish them to TikTok, YouTube Shorts and Instagram Reels (AutoPilot, on the Pro and Elite plans). It does not make a clip "original" in TikTok's sense: subtitles and reframing don't replace your own footage or real creative edits. Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most asked questions about this topic.

  • How do you make money on TikTok?

The main way is the Creator Rewards Program, which pays for qualified views on original videos longer than one minute, if you are 18 or older, have 10,000 followers and 100,000 video views in the last 30 days, and live in one of 8 countries, according to TikTok Creator Academy. TikTok also pays through LIVE gifts, Super Fan, Video Gifts, Subscription, Series, TikTok Shop affiliate and brand deals on TikTok One. If you post clips of other people's streams, paid clipping campaigns are another route: according to StreamClipping AI's paid clipping rate index, campaigns accepting TikTok clips paid a median $1.25 per 1,000 views on October 18, 2026, a posted rate and not guaranteed income.

  • How many followers do you need to get paid on TikTok?

10,000 followers for the Creator Rewards Program and Series, and over 10,000 for Subscription, according to TikTok Creator Academy. TikTok One brand projects require at least 1,000 followers as a baseline, and TikTok Shop affiliate in the United States requires 1,000 followers, with creators under 5,000 followers starting in a pilot program for at least 30 days. For LIVE, the Creator Academy page we read only states age: 18, or the age of majority in your country.

  • How much does TikTok pay per 1,000 views?

TikTok does not publish a rate. It defines RPM as "average gross revenue per 1k qualified views" and says the amount depends on where viewers come from, the language of the content, watch time, retention, completion and search value. Third-party estimates exist: Uppbeat, compiling creator disclosures without giving its sample size, reports $0.36 to $1.04 per 1,000 qualified views, and Influencer Marketing Hub cites $0.40 to $1.00 or more per 1,000 views. Treat these as estimates, not as TikTok's rate.

  • Is the TikTok Creator Fund still available?

Not in the countries we could check. TikTok discontinued the Creator Fund on December 16, 2023 in the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany, as reported by Engadget, and moved creators to the Creativity Program, which became the Creator Rewards Program on March 18, 2024. In Spain, the fund was due to end on February 24, 2024, according to El Independiente. In Italy, it kept running after December 2023 and we found no source for its end date. Creator Rewards is available in neither country.

  • How do I get monetized on TikTok in my country?

For Creator Rewards, you must be based in and have an account registered in one of 8 countries: the United States, United Kingdom, Germany, Japan, South Korea, France, Mexico or Brazil, according to TikTok Creator Academy. Canada, Spain and Italy are not included. Other programs have their own country lists, and TikTok's Creator Monetization Center says "Program availability and eligibility vary by market, account status, and feature rollout": check it in TikTok Studio.

  • What is Screen Time to Cash on TikTok?

It is not a TikTok program. It is a deceptive pop-up designed to look like an official TikTok message, which asks you to confirm your age and download a "partner app" to start earning. TikTok confirmed to Mashable that there is no legitimate TikTok program called "Screentime to Cash", or anything similar, and told it: "We've removed content and accounts for violating our policies against deceptive practices and misleading content." According to Mashable, the ads are run by third parties and lead to get-paid-to apps; Playful Rewards says it does not run them directly.

  • When does TikTok pay you?

For the Creator Rewards Program, you can redeem your rewards on the 15th of each month if they reach the $50.00 minimum, according to TikTok Creator Academy. Withdrawals are typically processed within 72 hours, without guarantee, to PayPal, Pix or a bank account. Other programs pay weekly, every two weeks or monthly, and you cannot choose the cycle.
