- Helldivers 2 (4000 × 28% = 1120) - trend up
- WoW Classic (6000 × 35% = 2100) - but hard to dominate
- Co-working streams (200 × 60% = 120) - tiny but explosive niche
- Cosy games (400 × 50% = 200) - emerging niche
Conversely, absolutely avoid if starting :
- League of Legends (5/5 saturation, 8% retention)
- Just Chatting (5/5 saturation, 5% retention)
- Fortnite (5/5 saturation, 10% retention)
Optimal strategy by profile
Starting (0 viewers)
Choose 1-2/5 difficulty niche with retention > 30% : cosy games, PUBG, co-working streams, retro, speedrun.
100-500 viewers
Mix : 1 niched signature game (where you become recognized) + 1 mainstream variety game (Elden Ring, Hades II) to bring in browse.
500-2000 viewers
You can afford Just Chatting and League in variety mode. Your audience follows you wherever.
2000+ viewers
Play what you love. Audience is solid, follows you. But test 1 new game per month to stay fresh.
Conclusion : choose your niche, not the masses
The 5 million streamers aiming for League / LoL / Just Chatting are in atrocious competition.
The 5000 streamers positioning on FFXIV / cosy games / speedrun / co-working are under-marketed. Smaller audience but much better retention, and you can dominate your niche in 6-12 months instead of 5 years.
Multi-platform clipping (StreamClipping AI) works even better on niches : your clips bring genuinely interested viewers, not passers-by. Conversion 3-5x higher than mainstream clip.
