ZEvent 2026 Day 1: The Counter Already Reads 652 366 € Before the 6pm Kickoff

The final ZEvent starts tonight at 6pm in Montpellier, and the official counter is already at 652 366 €. Here is the concert debrief, the live numbers with a timestamp, the donation goals worth tracking, and how to clip around a stream you are never allowed to repost.

One hour before the official kickoff, the ZEvent 2026 counter already reads 652 366 €. The marathon has not even started.

Quick context if you are not plugged into French streaming: ZEvent is a charity streaming marathon created in 2016 by Adrien Nougaret, better known as ZeratoR, and Alexandre Dachary. Every year, French speaking streamers gather in one room, stream for a full weekend, and funnel donations to charities. It has grown into the biggest thing of its kind anywhere. This year is the tenth and final edition, and the full programme, the historical numbers and our clipping method are all in the pillar guide. Yesterday we previewed the opening concert in this piece. Today the machine actually switches on.

Where the counter stands

The official API reading was taken on Friday September 4 at 15:00:11 UTC, so 5pm in Montpellier, one hour before the 6pm start. At that exact second: 652 366 €, 338 streamers registered, 71 of them live, and 27,675 combined viewers across participating channels.

A fundraising number without a timestamp is wrong the minute after you publish it, so treat that one as a photograph, not a status. This is also our first reading of the series, which means we have nothing to compare it to yet. No progression curve, no pace estimate, no dramatic percentage. We also do not know what the counter showed at the equivalent hour in 2025, so we are not going to pretend otherwise.

The individual pots at that moment: the main ZEVENT channel led with 176 556 €, then Nia_c at 51 910 €, JardiStream at 8 163 €, Sol_Hms at 6 877 €, BastiUi at 6 222 €, MielCrapouille at 6 103 €, ZeratoR at 5 769 € and Manglouste at 4 632 €. Expect that table to be unrecognisable within twelve hours.

On the viewing side, the ZEVENT category itself pulled 23,174 viewers, with Call of Duty: Warzone at 1,842, Onimusha: Way of the Sword at 1,265, Hearthstone at 882, Genshin Impact at 400 and Arcadia Cafe at 112. Useful detail for you: almost everything is concentrated in one category. Search and discovery behave very differently when a whole audience piles into a single tag.

For scale, the record to beat is 16 179 096 € raised in 2025 in under 60 hours with 327 streamers, and the ten year cumulative total sits at 57 523 190 € going into this weekend.

The concert, twenty hours later

Thursday night, Sud de France Arena, Montpellier, 8pm. The traditional opening concert went ahead with a late reshuffle: Gims had to cancel for health reasons, and the organisation brought in Yamê with a full set to replace him, with Bigflo & Oli given a longer slot to fill the gap. Also on the bill: Gazo, the Orchestre Curieux with Marianne and PV Nova, and Lorien Testard. The show was broadcast live on Twitch.

Here is the part that matters to you professionally. A concert broadcast is the single worst thing you can rip. The footage belongs to ZEvent and its broadcasters, and the music stacks another rights layer on top of that. Reposting thirty seconds of a live performance is not a grey area, it is the fastest strike you will collect all year. If you want to talk about the concert, talk over your own footage, your own face, your own commentary, and read our breakdown of music and audio rights in clips before you touch a single audio track.

ZeratoR also confirmed on stream that the ZEvent shop reopens one final time, with shirts from past editions, a collector card and a pin collection. Merch nostalgia is going to be a running theme of this last edition.

The donation goals worth tracking

If you have never followed a ZEvent, donation goals are the mechanic that makes the whole thing watchable. A streamer pledges a challenge tied to their personal fundraising total. Hit the number, do the thing. Two announced ahead of the weekend give you the flavour: Anyme has pledged a stream from space if his personal pot reaches 200 000 €, and Nico has pledged a Dakar to Paris trip without taking a plane, in 30 days, at the same tier.

Dozens more exist across the 338 registered participants, and community trackers follow every pot in real time. We are not going to list goals we have not verified one by one, but the practical advice is simple: pick three or four streamers whose goals you actually find funny, and watch their counters rather than the global one. The global counter is a slow river. Individual pots are where things suddenly break.

What this teaches you as a clipper

The first hours of a marathon are the most competitive window of the entire weekend and the least interesting one to clip. Everybody is fresh, everybody is on script, the plateau is polished. The material that travels comes later, usually somewhere between hour twenty and hour forty, when the sleep debt turns a normal sentence into a meme.

So tonight is a setup night, not a harvest night. Three things to do while the counter is still low:

Record your own watch party from the start. Not the official feed. You, reacting, with the event as context. That is footage you own and can legally cut. If you are new to spotting usable peaks inside a long recording, our guide on detecting the strong moments in a stream is the shortest path.

Plan for volume, not for perfection. A six hour watch party is not one clip, it is a stack of them. The method is in getting 30 clips out of a single stream, and it applies exactly the same way to event coverage.

Fix your format before the rush. Vertical framing with your facecam correctly placed, burned in subtitles because most of the audience watches muted, and a title that lands in the first three seconds. Start with the 9:16 vertical guide and the hook and title playbook. Doing that at 2am on Sunday with sixty clips in the queue is how people end up posting nothing.

StreamClipping's multi-modal detection reads audio, vision and transcript together, which is exactly what you want on a watch party where the reaction is on your face and the news is in the words. Export in 9:16 and 16:9, let AutoPilot keep the pipeline moving overnight, and if you want your clips to earn while the event is hot, the paid per view campaigns live in /discover. The free plan is 15 minutes of video per month, for life, no card needed, and you get 7 days of Elite when you create the account.

What is left to watch today

The collection opens at 6pm Paris time and runs until the night of Sunday into Monday, more than 50 hours of continuous broadcast in a hybrid format between Montpellier and remote participants. Tonight, the things to keep an eye on are the first individual pots pulling away, the first goals getting within reach, and whichever unscheduled segment ends up defining the weekend. Nobody knows what that will be yet, and anyone telling you otherwise is guessing.

We will be back tomorrow with the day 2 reading, the goals that actually fell, and the sequences that travelled.

Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the most asked questions about this topic.

  • How much has ZEvent 2026 raised so far?

At the official snapshot taken on Friday September 4 at 15:00:11 UTC, the zevent.fr counter showed 652 366 €. That was one hour before the marathon officially started at 6pm Paris time, so the figure was already outdated by the time you read this. Always check the official counter and always state the time of your reading.

  • What time does the ZEvent 2026 marathon start and end?

The collection officially opens Friday September 4 at 6pm Paris time and runs until the night of Sunday September 6 into Monday September 7, for more than 50 hours of live broadcast. The format is hybrid: streamers on site in Montpellier plus remote participants.

  • Can I clip the official ZEvent Twitch stream?

No. The footage belongs to ZEvent and its broadcasters, and the concert adds music rights on top. What you can clip is your own watch party, your reaction, your commentary. That is the position we hold for every big event, and it does not move.

  • What is a donation goal at ZEvent?

It is a pledge tied to a personal fundraising total. A streamer says that if their own pot hits a given amount, they will do a specific challenge. Anyme has pledged a stream from space at 200 000 €, Nico a Dakar to Paris journey without a plane in 30 days at the same tier. Goals falling are the moments that produce clips.

  • How do I turn a 50 hour marathon into short form content without watching all of it?

You record your own watch party, then let multi-modal detection do the sorting. StreamClipping analyses audio, vision and transcript to surface the peaks, exports in 9:16 and 16:9, and AutoPilot can keep the pipeline running while you sleep. The free plan is 15 minutes of video per month for life with no card required.

  • Which streamers are leading the individual totals right now?

    At the 15:00:11 UTC snapshot, the main ZEVENT channel led with 176 556 €, ahead of Nia_c at 51 910 €, JardiStream at 8 163 €, Sol_Hms at 6 877 €, BastiUi at 6 222 €, MielCrapouille at 6 103 €, ZeratoR at 5 769 € and Manglouste at 4 632 €. Those rankings will look nothing like that by tomorrow morning.
